I haven’t gotten to sketch much this last week, I’ve been busy. But, did this chalk drawing for my daughters 2nd birthday party today.
Fact: my state is better than yours. Let’s look at the proof: one of the fastest growing economies in the nation built on energy, biotechnology, telecommunications, aviation & agriculture. Plus we have the Thunder. There’s never been a better time to be an Okie. We have the worlds tallest hill, the most shore line of any state & the most diverse land. We win!
Revisiting the predator. All my stuff is starting to look the same. I need to start trying new things. Loving the markers tho. I stopped caring about this as the Thunder started losing.

Sorry for not posting last night, I worked late. I got my first ever set of inking markers so here’s a knight.
Day 9
I decided to try my hand at drawing a super hero tonight. I also tried to focus on that same simple human form put forward by Samurai Jack. I love how they draw hands.
Day 8: My favorite superhero of all time. Superman.
Today is a big day in the Rodriguez household. For the men anyway. I took my son to a comic shop for the first time. I restarted my comic book collection, and to honor that purchased a new DC 52 comic of Superman. My all time favorite superhero and comic book character.
My son was speechless and in his almost 3 year old brain of his thought, “You mean I can have whatever I want!?!” He went for Spiderman, but was intercepted by a Toy Story comic before making a decision. As I read it to him tonight, I realized how much of an impact this is probably going to make in his life. He enjoyed every bit of it.
I had a busy, productive day. So, you get a sketch from 08 that really captures the cartoonish style I was shooting for with my predator yesterday.
